The earliest form of Waylon comes from Norse Mythology. “Wayland the Smith” was the son of a God-Giant and a master sword maker who, according to legend, crafted the armor that Beowulf wore. He is also reputed to have taken revenge on a great king who tried to enslave him by murdering the king’s sons and using their skulls as drinking bowls.
